Keyboard and Mouse

The control manual for PC and Mac players. You can check the same manual in game as well (Game Interface#Controls).

Using objects

Right-click on an object to see what you can do with it. One button will show for each available action. The 'Book' button will show you information about the object and how it can be created and used.

Pick food

Right-click on the bush to see the action menu, and then click the "Pick" button. You can also left-click on bushes to pick from them.

Eating

When you hold food, right-click on your character to see an 'Eat' button. Once you are full, you can't eat any more.

Feeding a baby

When a woman character is holding a baby, food will transfer from the woman to the baby.

Walking and running

You can walk by left-clicking or by using the W, A, S, D keyboard keys. Press and hold ‘Shift’ key to run instead of walk.

Speech bubbles

Press 'Enter' key to say something in game.

Naming your character

Right-click on your character and press the 'pencil' button. Only un-named adults can do this.

Naming a baby

To name a baby you must first pick it up and hold it in your arms. The GUI will show that you hold an un-named baby, plus a pencil. Press this button.

Naming a location

Right-click on an un-named Cairn, then press the 'pencil' button (Only works for an adult).

Finding hidden objects

Press and hold ‘Space’ key to show name labels of objects that you can pick up or use. This can help you find hidden objects too. Clicking on a name label has the same effect as clicking on the object itself.

Zooming the view

Use the scroll wheel to zoom in for a closer view.

Control shortcuts

Instead of using right-click and seeing the actions you can choose, you can also use keyboard shortcuts. There is one for each button position.

Pick from pile

Right-click on the pile and click the "Pick" button. You can also left-click on a pile to get one item.

Drop item

Right-click on the ground and click the "Drop" button.

Craft item

To change an object into something new, you first must put it on the ground. Then you take a tool in your hand and use it on the object on the ground. Sometimes, ingredients are needed instead of tools. In this case of the picture, pick up the round rock and then right-click on the flint nodule (on the ground). Click the "Create" Button, to make flint shards.

Harvest resources

In this case of the picture, right-click the rivergrass and click the "Harvest" button, to cut one river grass. You can also left-click on the grass, to cut it.

Mobile Phone / Tablet

The control manual for players on mobile devices. You can check the same manual in game as well (Game Interface#Controls).

Control shortcuts

Instead of tapping an object and seeing the actions you can use, you can also use a quick gesture. Start by touching the object, then drag in the direction of the action you want, then release. This is particularly convenient when you need to do the same action several times in a row (picking fruit, for example).
